On October 11, members of the HFCo.#1 promoted fire prevention month with a visit to Lower Nazareth Elementary School and the Nazareth Day Care. The firefighters spoke about fire safety, car safety, and general safety while promoting good habits of study and education. The students were finally given tours of Engine 5311 and Rescue 5341, which was the highlight of the day. The younger students were shown what a firefighter looks like when fully dressed and the process of calling 911 when there is an emergency. The younger students were also given the assignment of memorizing their home phone number and addresses. There was even a guest appearance by Sparky, the fire prevention dog. The HFCo.#1 would like to thank the teachers and staff, under the leadership of Principal Micheal Santos, for welcoming them to their school to help promote safety within the community.
