The Hecktown Volunteer Fire Company and Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company (Northampton County) were dispatched to 364 Hemlock Lane in Lower Nazareth Township just after 21:00 hours for a reported dwelling fire. Callers reported a large fire to the rear of the home and indicated that it was spreading rapidly. 5353 (AC Brooks) arrived on the scene and confirmed the dispatch of a working fire. 5353 established the 53 Command and requested the second alarm. Crews from fire 53 put the elevated master stream and portable ground monitor in service upon the arrival of 5311. Multiple mutual aide companies assisted with fire suppression, search, and overhaul.

During the overhaul operation a collapse occured in the interior of the home briefly trapping two members of the Palmer Municipal Fire Department. RIT was activated and a third member was injured while gaining access to the two firefighters. The three were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
