Shortly after 10pm on Tuesday night, Hecktown Fire and Hanover Twsp Fire, were dispatched to an MVA with Entrapment. As crews responded, updates were given by police that a single vehicle had crashed into a pole, causing live power lines to surround the vehicle and that the vehicle was now on fire. Prior to the fire departments arrival, CRPD officers had safely removed the occupant of the vehicle. 5351 arrived on scene and established 53 Command, advising all units that the live wires were now to close to the vehicle to put the fire out and requested that the power company perform a remote shut off of that grid to prevent fire from spreading to the connected tree line. Multiple units responded to provide fire suppression, traffic control, and scene securement. Once all power was shut down to make the scene safe, crews extinguished the fire and turned the scene over to the power company.
